Profiles with pictures are more likely to be viewed than those without.
When putting up a picture, ensure it is a fair likeness to you now, and not you 20 years ago. If someone wants to meet you then they need to be able to recognise you.
Sparse profiles are not likely to hold someone's attention for long. You need to fill in as much detail on your profile as you possibly can. The more information, the better. Think of your profile as an advert to sell yourself - it will give people their first impression of you and as you well know - firsts impressions count!!
Write everything about yourself - your dislikes as well as your likes as this may help someone to get to know you quicker. A good idea is to get a friend to write a brief paragraph about you and your personality and have this posted on your profile too. This shows other peoples perspective of you. Alternatively, this could be a family member you ask to do this.
Now go on and make a good first impression!
